Client-Owned Vehicle Consent & Insurance Declaration
Revised October 2026
For driving tuition and/or practical driving test representation using the client's own vehicle.
(“Kudos Driving” reserves the right to refuse permission at any time.)
IMPORTANT: This form is a consent and declaration of responsibility. It is not intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

2. Consent to use the client's vehicle
I confirm that I have asked Kudos Driving to provide driving tuition and/or driving-test representation using the vehicle identified above.
I give permission for the Kudos Driving instructor to drive and/or supervise the vehicle for the agreed purpose,
including where appropriate the use of the vehicle's controls and any instructor-fitted or approved dual controls.
I understand that the instructor may refuse to use the vehicle if, in the instructor's reasonable professional judgement, the vehicle is unsafe, unsuitable, unlawful to use for the intended purpose, inadequately insured, defective, or otherwise unsuitable for tuition or a practical driving test.
3. Client's insurance declaration
I confirm that, before tuition or test representation takes place, I have checked with my motor insurer and/or insurance provider that the vehicle is insured for the intended use.
I specifically confirm that my insurance cover permits a driving instructor to use and teach in the vehicle for payment, hire or reward, where such cover is required for the tuition being provided.
I understand that ordinary private motor insurance may not automatically provide cover for paid driving instruction or use for hire or reward. I accept responsibility for ensuring that the vehicle has the appropriate insurance cover in place before the lesson or test.
I will provide evidence of insurance if reasonably requested by Kudos Driving or the instructor.
I have checked that the vehicle is currently insured for the intended use.
My insurance permits a driving instructor to teach me in this vehicle for payment, hire or reward, where applicable.
The insurance policy is valid on the date(s) on which the vehicle will be used for tuition and/or test representation.
I understand that I must notify Kudos Driving immediately if the insurance position changes or I discover that the vehicle is not appropriately insured.
4. Vehicle condition and legal requirements
I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge, the vehicle is roadworthy and legally suitable for the intended use. I will inform the instructor of any known defect, warning light, damage, modification or other issue that could affect safety.
The vehicle has the legally required MOT where applicable.
The vehicle is taxed where required.
The vehicle is maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition.
The vehicle is fitted with suitable tyres and has adequate fuel or charge for the intended lesson or test.
Any relevant vehicle defects or warning lights have been disclosed to the instructor.
5. Responsibility for the client's vehicle
I understand that I remain responsible for the ownership, maintenance, roadworthiness, taxation and insurance of my vehicle unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
I understand that Kudos Driving and its representative will take reasonable care when using or supervising the vehicle. However, driving tuition involves inherent risks, including the possibility of accidental damage arising from the actions of the learner or other road users.
To the extent permitted by law, I agree that I will not hold Kudos Driving or its representative responsible for loss or damage to my vehicle that is caused by my own actions, instructions I knowingly disregard, pre-existing defects, inadequate maintenance, lack of appropriate insurance, or the actions of third parties.
Nothing in this form excludes or limits any liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability arising from negligence where the law does not permit that liability to be excluded.
6. Learner responsibility
I agree to follow reasonable safety instructions given by the instructor during tuition. I understand that the instructor may stop a lesson or decline to continue using the vehicle if I fail to follow safety instructions or if continuing would create an unreasonable safety risk.
I understand that I remain responsible for complying with the law and for providing accurate information about my licence, insurance and vehicle.
7. Practical driving test use
Where the vehicle is being used for a practical driving test, I understand that the vehicle must meet the applicable requirements for the test and that the instructor may refuse test representation if the vehicle is not legally or safely suitable.
I understand that Kudos Driving does not guarantee that the vehicle will be accepted for a test where circumstances outside its reasonable control prevent its use.
8. Declaration and consent
By signing below, I confirm that the information I have provided is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I confirm that I have read and understood this form and that I have had the opportunity to raise any questions with Kudos Driving before signing.
I understand that this declaration does not replace my responsibility to comply with the requirements of my motor insurance policy or any legal requirements applying to the vehicle.

If the Client does not agree with, or is unwilling to commit to and be bound by these Terms, then DO NOT enter into any agreement with Kudos Driving and its representative or use any its services.
